Ronald W. Hamner, M.D. recently retired after 37 years of nephrology practice caring for people with kidney disease and other complex problems. He was CEO of a large nephrology practice for 8 years. For a longer time, he participated in both local and national medical industry boards and committees. Ron witnessed and participated in American health care changes since the 1980’s through the last decade. He and his wife, Becky, live in San Antonio, Texas. Now, he hopes to use lessons from medical practice management to improve life for his children and grandchildren in Houston, Tulsa and Norway. Retiring activities also include exercise, golf, cooking, Sunday school teaching and, hopefully, more writing.
